About the Project

Project background
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a disorder affecting numerous children in Europe and in the world, leading to a poor mental and physical wellbeing, a fact indicating that this societal group should not be left behind. In Europe however, it is still a struggle for children with ASD to feel included and seen, which is why several efforts must be made to create a comprehensive and accessible society for them.
It is indeed a goal of the European Union to create a society where children with ASD no longer feel like they are less than, or that they don’t have the same rights as their neurotypical counterparts.
Empowerment, inclusivity, and involvement of other actors are main goals of the AiM project, and will be met with the use of digital innovation, programs, trainings, etc., with a quintessential goal of educating and exposing parents and teachers to better support physical and mental wellbeing in children with ASD.
This project is about...
The AiM project’s objectives are to promote healthier eating and exercising habits in children aged 8-13 with ASD in schools, as well as decrease isolation and marginalisation from society, with the use of innovative digital tools.
This, in turn, will promote physical and mental wellbeing in a child’s life. Training and involving primary school/special needs teachers, parents, and other professionals working with children with ASD is vital, since the aforementioned groups interact with children with ASD the most; they will be a positive and continuous influence in their lives.
